The FIA Formula E Championship has reached a ground-breaking agreement with GINX eSports TV to show live coverage of the series’ unique eSports competition - the Pro Series Championship final presented by Visa - which takes place in Battersea Park alongside the Visa London ePrix season finale on July 3.
GINX eSports TV is an international, multi-language TV platform dedicated to eSports. It recently signed a deal with Sky and ITV with both companies intending to take a minority stake in the business, and went live on channel 470 on Sky (290 on Virgin Media) on June 24.
Formula E launched the Pro Series in partnership with ESL earlier this year. Using the Forza 6 platform, it brought together the world’s leading online gamers in a series of virtual races that acted as qualifiers for the championship final, which takes place live in Battersea Park this weekend.
With 10 of the top online racers competing for a €15,000 prize fund, the Pro Series is the richest Forza-based eSports tournament to date. With eight hours of coverage across the weekend of July 2 and 3, GINX viewers will be able to view every practice and qualifying session of this seminal event. Broadcasting starts at 9am on both days and concludes at 1pm.
