The 2020 Marrakesh E-Prix was a roaring success for Antonio Felix da Costa and DS Techeetah, but what did the thrilling race mean for the Formula E Predictor? Check out the perfect score from the race in the Red City.
E-Prix winner - Antonio Felix da Costa
It was only a matter time for Antonio Felix da Costa and DS Techeetah to score their first win together. After two podiums on the bounce in Santiago and Mexico City, Da Costa drove a flawless race in Marrakesh to dominate the proceedings. Dropping behind Maximilian Guenther briefly, the Portuguese driver kept it cool and tactical, timing his ATTACK MODE perfectly to regain the lead. The DS Techeetah man never looked back and won the race in convincing style by over 10 seconds.
Julius Baer Pole Position - Antonio Felix da Costa
Marrakesh was a statement for the rest of the Formula E grid, as Da Costa and DS Techeetah demonstrated that they are a combination to watch in the 2019/20 season. The Portuguese driver put his stamp on the Circuit Moulay El Hassan, along with winning the race he secured the Julius Baer Pole Position.
Fastest lap - Mitch Evans
Mitch Evans looked set to continue his form so far this season and with the fastest time after the two practice sessions he was looking strong for the race. However, mistiming his flying lap in qualifying forced the Kiwi to the back of the grid. Undeterred, Evans drove an incredible race climbing up 18 positions to finish in sixth and claim the Fastest Lap bonus point in the process.
First ATTACK MODE - Jerome D'Ambrosio
Jerome D'Ambrosio was the first driver to take the ATTACK MODE in Marrakesh. Despite winning last season and Mahindra Racing having a streak of podiums in the Red City, the 2020 race wasn't to be for the Indian team and their Belgian driver as D'Ambrosio crossed the line outside the points in 13th position.
Last place finisher - Ma Qinghua
The 2019/20 season has been a difficult campaign so far for Ma Qinghua and the Marrakesh E-Prix continued his run of pointless finishes. The Chinese driver was unable to match the pace of the rest of the field, he was 3-seconds off the fastest lap around the Circuit Moulay El Hassan and was lapped by the leaders.
Marrakesh E-Prix Predictor winner
Portuguese Formula E fan Diogo Vieira took the honours in the Formula E Predictor in Marrakesh, scoring an impressive 50 points out of 60.
Putting trust in his countryman paid off in the Marrakesh - going forward Diogo thinks that Da Costa and his DS Techeetah team Jean-Eric Vergne are ones to watch in the coming races, along with Evans and Guenther - but the Marrakesh Predictor winner thinks that you should never discount the experienced heads of Lucas di Grassi and Sebastien Buemi.
