UPDATED: Rossiter replaces Vergne for Practice 1 as reigning champion recovers from illness

James Rossiter - DS Techeetah's test driver - will replace reigning champion Jean Eric Vergne as he recovers from illness in Marrakesh.

Reigning champion Jean-Eric Vergne missed the first Practice session of the 2020 Marrakesh E-Prix reportedly due to illness. In his place is DS Techeetah test and development driver James Rossiter, who gets behind the wheel of the number 25 car ahead of the race on February 29.

Now issued with an E-Licence (in order to take part in the Practice session) Rossiter will no longer take part in the rookie test on March 1. While Vergne hopes to return to the racetrack to take part in the main even on February 29, it is unknown who - if anyone - will take part in Sunday's rookie test alongside the team's second rookie driver Filipe Albuquerque.
