The FIA has confirmed that Qualifying for Round 8 has been cancelled due to the weather in Tokyo, making it the first non-Free Practice session to be cancelled in Formula E history.
The decision was made as late as possible, but for safety reasons, with rain still falling and water standing on multiple areas of the track, officials were left with no other option than to inform teams that Quali wasn't to be.
It means that the grid for Round 8 will be taken from Free Practice 2's results, which sees Nissan's Oliver Rowland on Julius Baer Pole Position, followed by Edoardo Mortara of Mahindra and Rowland teammate Norman Nato.
