David Coulthard joins the commentator team in Berlin

With just days to go until Round 9 of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship in Berlin, former racing driver David Coulthard will join the Formula E commentary team alongside Jack Nicholls and Bob Varsha for the 2018 BMW i Berlin E-Prix.

"I am delighted to be taking over co-commentary duties from my friend and fellow Scot Dario Franchitti whilst he is away on Indianapolis duties," said Coulthard. After attending the 2017 Qatar Airways Paris E-Prix in Season 3, Coulthard is no stranger to all-electric street racing. "Formula E has proven to deliver exciting racing and has fantastic manufacturer support going forward which will continue to strengthen the championship and its reach."

The former driver started his career in karts at the age of 11 after receiving one for his birthday. From there, the Scotsman climbed through the racing ranks, entering Formula One in 1994, driving for Williams. After a 14 year career featuring 246 starts, 62 podiums and 13 wins in the series, Coulthard retired from single-seater racing to become a commentator and pundit for the BBC's Formula One coverage, before moving to Channel 4 in 2016.

Together, all three commentators will keep you up to date with all the on-track action as Formula E returns to Berlin for the fourth year running.
