Antofagasta Minerals Santiago E-Prix: In the drivers' words

Santiago, we salute you. Hear what our drivers had to say about the Round 4 of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship.

Antofagasta Minerals Santiago E-Prix: In the drivers' words

The Antofagasta Minerals Santiago E-Prix was a race of many firsts for us here at the ABB FIA Formula E Championship. With Techeetah wrapping up the series' first-ever one-two finish, rookie driver Andre Lotterer claiming his first podium and points, and the event being the first time the all-electric series hit the city's streets, it was one of the most exciting races to date.

But, then again, we're bound to say that, aren't we? Instead, let's see what the stars of the streets had to say about it.

Jean-Eric Vergne, Techeetah (1st)

"When I first joined Techeetah, people thought I was crazy leaving DS Virgin Racing... but now I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. It just doesn't get better than this.

Santiago to me has been one of the best races - there are so many fans watching the race and I could hear them shouting on the way to the grid. It was so real. They were all super excited and I hope that they enjoyed the show."

Andre Lotterer, Techeetah (2nd, DHL Driver of the Day)

"Some people say these cars are not that quick but believe me, when you're driving in between these concrete walls, it feels just as quick as Le Mans, or anything I've ever driven.

Driving in the cities and in between the walls is the best thing about this championship. You can't make any mistakes here.

I'm still finding out how to race. It's a different game here in Formula E."

Sebastien Buemi, Renault e.dams (3rd)

"I'm still happy with the result. Third place is still a lot of points for us but, on the other hand, I'm a bit disappointed because a customer team was faster than us but congratulations to them for the historic one-two.

I think we could have done slightly better in the pit stop, I think we could have overtaken Nelson [Piquet Jn.] and then done a better job later on but I'm happy in the end and I see that we're not far behind.

We're looking better. I wouldn't say we're looking strong but with Marrakesh and here, we're looking better for Mexico."
