With just two days to go until the 2017 HKT Hong Kong E-Prix, Monaco-based team Venturi Formula E announced it will be working with Mercedes specialist and motorsport technology company HWA AG for Season Four of the FIA Formula E Championship.
Best known for its work with Mercedes in the German DTM race series, HWA will provide technical support to the team throughout the season. "My teams in Monaco, stronger than ever, are working hand in hand with HWA," said Gildo Pallanca Pastor, President of Venturi Formula E team.
Established in 1998 as a spin-off from AMG - Mercedes' tuning and performance car division - HWA develops components and builds sports cars Mercedes-AMG and parent company Daimler.
With a successful DTM racing team to its name, HWA has also developed, manufactured and serviced racing engines for the Formula 3 European Championship and the British Formula 3 Series since 2003.
"The car is performing better than last year. If we can avoid reliability issues, we’ll hopefully be capable of scoring points in every race. A podium would be great but the team would deserve to finally get that first win,” said team driver Maro Engel.
