Mediaset to show live Formula E coverage for the next five seasons

Five seasons of live Formula E action incoming

Mediaset to show live Formula E coverage for the next five seasons

When we cut the ribbon on the inaugural Rome E-Prix last season, we had a feeling it might go down well. With 1.2million live viewers in Italy alone and 9.6 per cent audience share reported by Mediaset - the Italian free-to-air broadcaster - it's safe to say the race in Rome was quite a hit.

Now, with the second Rome E-Prix lined up for April 13, 2019, Mediaset has extended its partnership with the ABB FIA Formula E Championship to air live coverage of each race until the end of Season 9. Settle down and grab the popcorn - there's plenty more epic all-electric racing action on its way.

“We’re absolutely delighted to have Mediaset continuing to cover the thrills and spills of Formula E through to season nine," said Formula E Media & Business Development Director Ali Russel.

"The results Mediaset has shown - along with their extensive programming of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship - is a testament to their ongoing commitment and we look forward to bringing all the action live to fans across Italy for a further five seasons.”

With a brand new season of Formula E kicking off with the 2018 SAUDIA Ad Diriyah E-Prix on December 15, 2018, there's plenty to get excited about. Click here to see the full season calendar.
