Get behind the wheel of Gen2 in Real Racing 3

New season, new cars and new tracks as Formula E expands its partnership with EA and Real Racing 3

Get behind the wheel of Gen2 in Real Racing 3

Come on, admit it, who's ever dreamt of being a racing driver? The smell of shredded tyres, feeling the car through the seat of your pants and, oh yeah, the fame, glamour and, fingers crossed, the taste of champagne and success. But, thanks to Formula E and EA there is another way to get behind the wheel of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship's brand new Gen2 car - on Real Racing 3.

Featuring all 11 teams and liveries for next season - as well as the release of four city-centre tracks already on the Formula E calendar - Real Racing players will have the opportunity to put the Gen2 car to the test.

The new tracks will also be available to unlock and act as a testing ground for bespoke in-game challenges distinctive to Formula E and the unique aspects of electric racing, including conserving energy to the finish line without dropping down the order - as well as the more familiar head-to-head and elimination contests.

On top of the mobile offering, EA and Real Racing 3 - together with Turn 10 Studios - will continue to develop the software for the E-Race at every Formula E event. Taking place at the heart of the Allianz E-Village, Formula E's festival of technology, innovation and entertainment, the E-Race pitches fans directly against the drivers in a head to head final ahead of each E-Prix. Broadcast on giant screens around the circuit and streamed live via the Real Racing 3 app on Real Racing TV, the E-Race is a unique event in sport, leading the way in fan participation.

"The expanded partnership and offering with EA and Real Racing 3 is another exciting opportunity for Formula E to bring fans inclusive racing content - putting the new-look Gen2 car in the hands of gamers for the very first time," said Ben Padley, Marketing and Brand Director at Formula E. "So long as you have a mobile device and the Real Racing 3 app, you can be in with a chance to challenge the professional drivers at the track. That’s what the ABB FIA Formula E Championship is all about - breaking down the barriers between drivers and the fans... and seeing who’ll come out on top!”

Ahead of the season finale in New York City this weekend, Real Racing 3 will launch a global time trial running from July 13 - 21 - with gamers tackling the newly-extended Brooklyn Circuit in a bid to win a full-size replica helmet signed by a selection of Formula E drivers.
