Rossiter and Mako to test for TECHEETAH

Rossiter and Mako to test for TECHEETAH

With less than a month to go until Round Three of the FIA Formula E Championship in Marrakesh on January 13, TECHEETAH today announced that British driver James Rossiter and Frederic Makowiecki will represent the team at the official rookie test in Marrakesh.

Currently driving for TOM'S Racing in the Asian Super GT series and for Kondo Racing in the Super Formula Championship, Rossiter comes to Formula E with experience in both single seaters and sportscars. "I'm very grateful for the opportunity to work with TECHEETAH for the Formula E rookie test in Marrakesh. I’m really looking forward to getting on track and working together with the team," said Rossiter.

Starting with him will be Porsche factory driver Frederic Makowiecki, who currently competes in the FIA World Endurance Championship in the GTE Pro division. Joining TECHEETAH teammate and fellow former Porsche factory driver Andre Lotterer, Formula E will be another step into single-seater racing for the seasoned sportscar driver. "I am very happy that TECHEETAH has given me the chance to try a Formula E car during the rookie test in Marrakesh. I've followed the Championship from the beginning as I am interested by the new technology and strategy. The show on track is always great too. It will be a new experience and I can’t wait to jump in the car at Marrakesh," said Makowiecki.

The official rookie test day - reserved for drivers new to Formula E - the day will see two drivers from each team test the cars under timed conditions. The day takes place in the wake of the main race on the Circuit International Automobile Moulay El Hassan on January 13. Click here for tickets.
