Oliver Rowland would have wanted more from his Nissan homecoming than starting 20th and missing out on the points. But he had a personal accomplishment to show for his efforts in the Formula E season opener – winning the ABB Driver of Progress Award at the Hankook Mexico City E-Prix.

In detail

Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez

Created for the arrival of Formula E in 2016, the track makes use of the legendary Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez circuit. With race-ready surface and long corners, Mexico City is not only one of the fastest tracks on the calendar, it's also the highest at 2,250m above sea level.

The track layout for the Mexico City E-Prix features a mix of long and fast straights and a technical infield section through the legendary Foro Sol stadium.

Starting on the traditional start/finish straight, the Formula E grid will shoot down into turn one - home to some brave late-braking manoeuvres. After a long and fast Turn 2, the pack will make their way around Turn 3, which breaks off left into a four turn sequence.

Looping back around a hairpin, Turns 6 and 7 get technical, with a straight and sharp right-hand bend leading into new chicane complex for a quick blast into the legendary Foro Sol stadium section. Leaving the stadium the drivers will then jostle for position out of the iconic Peraltada curve in the run to the finish line.

Formula E always brings a fiesta to the Foro Sol, with electrifying entertainment as the drivers battle wheel-to-wheel. It's the start of a new season, expect all all the drama and excitement as the race to become World Champion starts in Mexico City.

The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship is returning to Mexico City's iconic Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, for the opening round of Season 10.

Be sure to check your journey in advance and arrive in plenty of time to enjoy everything the 2024 Hankook Mexico City E-Prix has to offer, both on and off the track! Please enter the circuit via the gate noted on your ticket.

Getting to the circuit

By public transport

For Gates 1 & 2: Velódromo station (Line 9) is within walking distance of the circuit.

For Gate 6: Please be aware the following Metro and Metrobus stations on Line 9 have planned closures on race day: Ciudad Deportiva, Puebla and Pantitlán. If you are travelling from within the city, please instead use the Velódromo stop for access to the venue.

For anyone travelling from outside the city, there will be a replacement bus service for which you can find information below.

By car

Public parking is available at the 2024 Hankook Mexico City E-Prix but is not operated by Formula E. This parking is available at a cost with entry through Puerta 9 and Puerta 15.

By taxi / ride-hailing service

Request drop-off point as AUTODROMO PUERTA 6, or Palacio de los Deportes, depending on the entrance stated on your ticket.

Security

All persons entering the event will be subject to a security check. This security check is a condition of entry to the event. Please allow plenty of time to progress through the search and screening process.

Please be aware of the items prohibited from bringing into the venue, such as strollers, selfie sticks and food and drink from outside the event. It is important to note that refillable bottles are also not allowed, but water will be freely available at the four Allianz Hydration Stations around the venue.

The Foro Sol grandstand is the place to be on race day, it's the epicentre of excitement, where fans come together to create an electrifying atmosphere like no other. Witness an action hot spot as the drivers jostle for position and dive for ATTACK MODE in the technical stadium section. Take in a great view of the track with a giant screen and live commentary to follow the race in full.

For the ultimate grandstand experience take a seat in the Gradas. Overlook the start/finish straight for all the action when the lights go out and peer across into the pit lane to catch all the drama in the garages. Watch in comfort under a partially covered grandstand with individual seats.

Expect drama and thrills in the Platino Plus grandstand on the outside of the famous Peraltada corner. Join cheering fans in a sheltered grandstand with individual seats and get a full view of the final turn with a glimpse down main straight and the run to the finish line.
