Guenther makes his debut in the ABB FIA Formula E Championship with US team Dragon, alongside electric racing veteran Jose-Maria Lopez.
Fresh from a season in Formula 2 with BWT Arden, Guenther makes his debut in the ABB FIA Formula E Championship with Dragon after serving as the team's reserve driver in the 2017/18 season. The German driver took part in the Formula E rookie test in Marrakesh in early 2018, alongside sharing the no.6 seat with Antonio Fuoco at pre-season testing in Valencia ahead of the 2018/19 season. Guenther finished 14th overall after posting a lap time of 1:17.947s.
Born in Oberstdorf in 1997, Guenther began his racing career in karts at the age of 10. After three years, the German driver progressed to the world of open-wheel racing in 2011 in the Formula BMW Talent Cup. In 2013, Guenther competed in ADAC Formel Masters from ADAC Berlin-Brandenburg e.V., ending the season second. In 2015, Guenther made his debut in the European Formula 3 with Mucke Motorsport before joining Prema Powerteam in 2016 and 2017. In 2017, he finished a respectable fifth on the testing street circuit of the Macau Grand Prix before moving up to Formula 2 in 2018, joining BWT Arden.
