L'Equipe to air every Season 8 race live to Formula E fans in France

Fans of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship in France will once again be able to tune in to La Chaine L'Equipe and L'Equipe.fr to get their fix, with every race in Season 8 set to be shown live and free-to-air.

A new multi-year deal with the broadcaster means French fans won't miss a minute of the 2021/22 campaign - from the moment we go green in Diriyah on 28 January for a night race double-header in Saudi Arabia to kick the new season off.

TUNE IN: Where to watch Formula E where you are

A three-and-a-half hour show will cover the action from every angle, with commentary of the on-track action provided by Adrien Paviot and Paul Petit with Mylene Dorange on the grid.

The European double-headers in Rome on 9 & 10 April and Monaco on 30 April will be La Chaine L'Equipe's 'Super Events' - like its Champions League and NFL Super Bowl coverage - with even more comprehensive analysis and a host of features and activations planned across L'Equipe's media channels.

SEASON 8: All the teams and drivers competing in 2021/22

Jean-Eric Vergne, DS TECHEETAH, said: “I'm very happy that L’Equipe has renewed its contract with Formula E, it's great for the championship to be on a free-to-air channel. I am delighted that Adrien Paviot, with whom I had the chance to comment on races, is part of the team. Viewers will love him, and I'm very happy that La Chaîne L'Equipe chose him. Now I hope to take the colors of France to the top in Formula E, win as many races as possible and challenge for the championship once again.”

Aarti Dabas, Chief Media Officer, Formula E, said: "We are delighted to extend our free-to-air broadcasting agreement with the L'Equipe group for Season 8 and beyond. Being seen for free in France, such an important market for us, is essential for the development of our sport and for its recognition as one of the strongest brands in world motorsport.

"The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship will enter the Gen 3 era in Season 9 with a new, more powerful and faster car model. We are proud to start a new chapter in our history alongside the leading French sports media."

Jerome Saporito, Director of the TV division of L'Equipe said: "We are happy to continue the adventure alongside Formula E after the success of Season 7, broadcast for the first time on the L'Équipe channel and on the L'Équipe platform. With this completely free-to-air broadcast, Formula E once again benefit from unprecedented exposure and fans will be able to lend their support to Jean-Eric Vergne every step of the way."
