Beckmann goes quickest for Kiro in Madrid

The times continue to fall as our grid get themselves more familiar with their GEN3 Evo machines.

Kiro Race Co’s David Beckmann was the star of Thursday morning at the Jarama circuit, as he finished the session top of the timesheets with an impressive 1m27.755s lap. Despite only being signed on for the pre-season test at the newly-rebranded American team, both he and Dan Ticktum have looked quick over the four test sessions so far.

RESULTS: The full classification from Session 4 of the Madrid Pre-Season Test

Beckmann was joined by both TAG Heuer Porsche drivers in the top three, with reigning champion Pascal Wehrlein in second and Antonio Felix da Costa in third. For Wehrlein, he was the first driver to break the 1m27s but shortly after his lap, the Kiro driver beat him by 0.008s to make it a Porsche and Becks at the top of the timings.

DS PENSKE’s Maximilian Guenther continued his strong pace to finish in fourth, with Jake Hughes slotting into fifth. The STELLANTIS powered cars have continued to look strong, after Hughes topped the second session in Madrid yesterday morning and Guenther going quickest in the afternoon.

Mitch Evans in his Jaguar TCS Racing machine was sixth, with Norman Nato getting in some good laps to finish seventh. NEOM McLaren’s newest signing Taylor Barnard was eighth at the chequered flag with Oliver Rowland (Nissan) and Jean-Eric Vergne (DS PENSKE) completing the top 10.

We return for another session this afternoon, where we will see a simulated race take place around the Spanish circuit.
