TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team's Pascal Wehrlein strode clear at the top of the timesheets in an interrupted Free Practice 3 ahead of the 2022 Diriyah E-Prix Round 2 from Jean-Eric Vergne (DS TECHEETAH) and Mahindra Racing's Oliver Rowland.
Wehrlein's 1m07.215s was some way inside the best lap times we saw yesterday, with most lapping around a second slower than that on Friday - the track now having cleaned up and rubbered in further since race one.
WAYS TO WATCH: Where and how to watch every minute of Season 8
Vergne followed a quarter-of-a-second back with Rowland third, ROKiT Venturi Racing's Edo Mortara fourth, Antonio Felix da Costa fifth and on the road to recovery after contact saw him out of Round 1 at the very beginning yesterday. Jake Dennis (Avalanche Andretti) set the fifth fastest time and looked sharp again after that podium in the opening race of the season.
A shunt for Nick Cassidy (Envision Racing) split the session in two, with the 10 minutes lost to its recovery added on to give the teams a full 30 minutes run-time. Cassidy said his chassis looked okay after the Kiwi sideswiped both sides of the car, so he should make qualifying at 15:40 this afternoon (local time).
The Diriyah E-Prix Round 2 itself follows at 20:00 local.
Glad to see @NickCassidy_ is out of the car and OK after this slide into the wall in FP3.
