EVENT GUIDE: Welcome to the 2020 Antofagasta Minerals Santiago E-Prix

We're back for a new decade of all-electric racing as the ABB FIA Formula E Championship rumbles on for the third round in Chile's capital of Santiago on January 18. Here's all you need to know about everything taking place on race day.

ALL TIMES LOCAL TO SANTIAGO

7:30am - Allianz E-Village Opens

The gates to the Allianz E-Village - Formula E’s fan festival at the heart of the E-Prix - open at 07:30am. Home to the drivers' autograph session, food stalls, interactive displays, activities for fans of all ages, and the chance to drive the track on our simulators in the Gaming Arena.

8:00am - Formula E Practice 1 

Watch all 24 cars and drivers head out on track for the first timed session of the day. Here, drivers will look to get a better understanding of the track. Despite the timed element to the session, the timings don't count towards the final race result.

Allianz E-Village

The best off-track entertainment

Formula E fans can experience the best off-track entertainment with performing acts from local and international talent spread across the Allianz E-Village.

  • Enduro Bike Show 
  • The Pilots Performance 
  • EJ live performance 
  • Drivers' Autograph Session 
  • E-Race competition vs the drivers

10:15am - Formula E Practice 2

Here's another chance to see all 24 cars and drivers head out on track again. With only two practice sessions ahead of Qualifying, this is the drivers last chance to get to grips with the track. Again, despite the timed element to the session, the timings don't count towards the final race result.

12:00pm - Formula E Qualifying and Super Pole, Track 

Qualifying determines the starting grid for the race, with the fastest driver lining-up in first place. The session lasts one hour and sees drivers divided into groups, decided by their championship standing - with the top challengers heading out first, in the most difficult conditions. Each driver has six minutes to set their best time, with the top-six drivers proceeding to the Super Pole shoot-out. 

4:00pm - 2020 Antofagasta Minerals Santiago E-Prix, track  

No more testing, no more practice - this is it - when the lights go out, it's just 45minutes plus one final lap to the finish line of pure electric racing. 24 cars and drivers but just one winner - but who will it be? Tune in to find out.

5:00pm - Podium Ceremony, Podium

That's it, the cars have crossed the line and the top three drivers will take to the podium. Join in the celebrations.

6:00pm - Allianz E-Village and 2020 Antofagasta Minerals E-Prix closes
