Formula E's drive for sustainability with Julius Baer and Bosch

Formula E will highlight its on-going drive for sustainability alongside Julius Baer and Bosch with three special variants of its Julius Baer Pole Position trophy crafted for each double header.

Formula E's drive for sustainability with Julius Baer and Bosch

Formula E exists to promote the adoption of electric mobility and alternative energy solutions to help reduce air pollution and fight climate change.

Sustainability is deeply rooted in our DNA, as the reason we go racing. Formula E promotes electric mobility and alternative energy solutions to contribute to reducing air pollution and the fight against climate change, in partnership with the UN.

Sustainable Development Goals

Over the nine-day six-race Berlin finale, set to get underway on August 5, Formula E, Bosch and Julius Baer will be marking the UN's Sustainable Development Goals that the championship and its partners are contributing towards - raising awareness of issues such as air pollution and climate change and helping achieve a better, more sustainable future, faster.

Bosch has crafted three special trophies - one for each double-header from Tempelhof - set to be presented to every driver that secures the Julius Baer Pole Position in the final six rounds of the 2019/20 ABB FIA Formula E Championship.

Rounds 6 and 7: Cities and communities

For the opening double-header, the focus is on sustainable cities and communities. Some 80-90 percent of urban dwellers around the world regularly breath unsafe air, directly contributing to 4.2 million deaths annually.

Formula E works with our host cities to develop sustainable infrastructure and the series highlights the benefits and pushes the advancement of electric mobility through world-class competition - showing that electric cars are part of the solution to poor air quality in those cities and beyond.

Rounds 8 and 9: Affordable, clean energy

For the second pair of races in Berlin, attentions turn to highlighting affordable, cleaner forms of energy and transportation - with the latter accounting for more than 25 percent of all carbon dioxide emissions worldwide each year.

Electric vehicles produce less CO2 across their lifetimes when compared to that of a combustion-engined equivalent in 95 percent of cases.

Formula E provides a test-bed - an Apollo program-like breeding ground - for the world's leading automotive manufacturers to develop their electric vehicle platforms to make them more intelligent and go further on every charge, through sporting competition of the highest level.
