After finishing second in yesterday's race, it was Audi Sport Abt Schaeffler's Daniel Abt who posted the fastest time of the morning in the final Free Practice session of the season finale. Posting a time of 1:18.699s, it looks promising for the German driver, who was challenging for the lead yesterday. Following Abt was Panasonic Jaguar Racing's Mitch Evans with a time of 1:18.796s, while MS&AD Andretti Formula E's Antonio Felix da Costa posted the third fastest time of 1:18.970s.
For the second time in Formula E history and the second time in New York City, all 20 cars made it out on a wet track for the final round of Season 4 at the 2018 Qatar Airways New York City E-Prix.
With the wet conditions causing problems for DS Virgin Racing's Sam Bird, who clipped the wall after drifting into Turn 14, damaging the rear of his car. Similarly, Dragon's Jose Maria Lopez escaped with no damage to the car after spinning 180 degrees and narrowly missing the wall.
With just under seven minutes of the session left, Mahindra Racing's Felix Rosenqvist locked up into Turn 11 and slid into the barrier. Damaging his car, the Swedish driver limped back to the pits to end the session early.
