For the fifth time, the 2020 BMW i Berlin E-Prix will take place on the iconic Tempelhof Airport located south of Berlin's city centre.

Getting to the circuit

The most convenient way to reach Tempelhof Airport is by public transport or by bike. 

The metro stations 'Platz der Luftbrücke' or 'Paradestraße' on U6 line are both within 5 min walking distance to the entrances of the venue.  
In addition, there are several bus station (line 104 and 248) in close vincinity of Platz der Luftbrücke.

Bicycle racks are provided at both entrances - Main Entrance and Park Entrance.

There are several car, bike and scooter services available in Berlin.

Please note there is no car or scooter parking available at the venue.

Frequently asked questions

How do I get to the Berlin E-Prix at Tempelhof Airport? 
As there are no parking spaces available and also in terms of sustainability, it is recommended to arrive by bike or to use the public transport: Underground line U6 / ’Platz der Luftbrücke’ or bus line 104 and 248. 

What time does the event open?
The event will take place on the 21 June. The closing times of the doors will be communicated in due course.

Which items can I not bring to the event?

May I re-enter the venue? 
Yes, the ticket is valid throughout the race day and allows you to re-enter the event. Please note, that the bags will be checked at the entrance.

Are seats in the grandstands reserved? 
Yes, for a seat on the grandstand, the appropriate ticket must be presented. The seat number is noted on the ticket. Ushers on-site will be happy to help. 

Does my child need a ticket for the Berlin E-Prix? 
Children up to 15 years have free admission accompanied by an adult ticketholder. Children up to 5 years will not have their own seat and must be taken on the lap. Children aged between 6-15 years will have own grandstand tickets/seats.

Can the whole race be watched from the Allianz E-Village? 
Visitors without a grandstand ticket can see the race on the giant screen at the podium in the Allianz E-Village. Standing places along the track do not guarantee an optimal view of the race or good audibility of the commentaries. The podium ceremony can be experienced live even without a grandstand ticket.  

How do I reach the event by wheelchair? 
Parking spaces for persons with reduced mobility are available in the courtyard beside the main hall and in front of the ‘GAT’. Please use the access via Tempelhofer Damm/Bayernring. You’ll find a barrier-free access to the main hall from there. From the main hall, an elevator takes you to the event level 0 of the Tempelhof Airport. A dedicated wheelchair platform is provided. Tickets for this can be purchased on the offical Formula E ticketing website.

Can I enter the event area with my baggage? 
For safety reasons, it is not allowed to bring large bags or baggage to the venue. Small backpacks and handbags will be checked at the entrance. Furthermore, glass or PET bottles larger than 0.5 liters are not permitted. Drinks and food stands are available at the event.

Should I expect additional costs for the entertainment activities on-site (e-karts, race simulator, kids area etc.)?
No, all entertainment activities are freely accessible through the purchase of your ticket. Strong demand could cause waiting times. Food and drinks at the event will be sold as usual.

How loud is a Formula E car? 
At about 80 decibels the racing cars are hardly louder than a standard car with petrol engine. The typical futuristic sound of Formula E cars results from the tire wear on the asphalt, the aerodynamics and the electric powertrain.

Do drivers still need to change cars during the race?
No, with the Gen2 car which is used since the 2018-2019 season a car change is not necessary anymore. The battery power of the car last for the entire race duration of 45 minutes + 1 lap.
