Watch Jerome d'Ambrosio pitch a Formula E car against a plane (or two)

Remember that time Techeetah's Jean-Eric Vergne raced a real-life Cheetah in a Formula E car? Well, this time Dragon's Jerome D'Ambrosio went a little bigger and pitted our all-electric Formula E car against a plane. Well, two actually.

Pulling onto the runway at Hamad International Airport, the home and hub of Qatar Airways, Dragon's Jerome D'Ambrosio lined up alongside an Airbus A350 on take off and a Boeing 787 Dreamliner touching down to mark the continuation of the partnership between Qatar Airways and the ABB FIA Formula E Championship.

"Qatar Airways strives to always be ahead of the curve when it comes to its environmental credentials and flying one of the most modern fleets in the sky," said Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker. "[this is] why we have chosen the future of motor racing and Formula E with their latest environmentally friendly technology, which they combine into this exciting sport. We trust that our loyal passengers and those fans of Formula E from around the world will enjoy watching this race, in anticipation of finding out exactly who will win this one-off event."

With the partnership announced earlier this year, Qatar Airways was named as the Official Title Sponsor of both the Paris E-Prix and the New York City E-Prix season finale taking place on July 14 and 15. In Europe, Qatar Airways will take the title of Official Airline for both the inaugural Rome E-Prix and Berlin race.

"It is great to be working with a partner who shares our values in sustainability and Qatar Airways is a global brand who is leading this charge," said Formula E Founder and CEO Alejandro Agag. "The breath-taking video demonstrates our shared passion to strive for excellence. Formula E races in the heart of some of the world's greatest cities, such as Paris and New York with the support of Qatar Airways to help us in going places together."
