Formula E shortlisted for Brand of the Year at BT Sport Industry Awards

Formula E goes up against Adidas, Jaguar Land Rover and NFL

Formula E shortlisted for Brand of the Year at BT Sport Industry Awards

Tonight, at the BT Sport Industry Awards 2018, ABB Formula E is going up against the likes of Jaguar Land Rover, Adidas UK, Fnatic and the NFL; shortlisted in the category Brand of The Year.

Currently taking over the streets of Paris, Formula E is only in its 4th year – compared to the NFL’s 128th– arguably punching well above our weight in this category for our age. In just a few years, Formula E has become a global brand by reinventing racing. Through breaking the conventions of motorsports, we’ve created a new and distinctly younger, urban fan-base, growing at an unprecedented rate.

Ali Russell, Media and Business Development Director at Formula E, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have made the shortlist for Brand of the Year. It goes to show what an amazing job the team at Formula E have done in such a short space of time.

Formula E continues to bloom in a digital age where traditional sports struggle. 2019 will see Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Nissan take a place on the grid to race wheel-to-wheel on city street circuits across the globe. It’s a great honour to have made it this far and it would be a true testament to everyone’s hard work if we were to bring the award home.”

In 2016, Formula E was shortlisted for both Brand of the Year and the Cutting Edge Sport award, of which we won the later. Previous winners of the prestigious Brand of the Year award include QPR, Invictus Games and both Adidas and Adidas UK.

Racing against the backdrop of iconic skylines such as New York, Hong Kong, Paris and

Rome. The Formula E electric street racing series is a brand with a purpose, supported by a portfolio of partners that is the envy of the sporting world.

Let’s bring this home tonight…
