DS Virgin Racing unveils Season Four challenger

DS Virgin Racing unveils Season Four challenger

Flick through the FIA Formula E Championship photo album, exactly three years back from today, and the chances are you'll find a snap of a familiar purple, red and silver car clinching victory in the Putrajaya E-Prix. While Formula E may have moved on considerably since then, Virgin DS Racing's livery stays true to its colours as the team reveals its Season Four livery ahead of the season opener in Hong Kong.

Looking the part on track, the DSV-03's livery has been subtly tweaked while the team's engineers have worked on optimising the car's performance and efficiency under the skin. " We achieved very positive pre-season testing results and this year, we will be able to start the season on the front foot, which is crucial when aiming for the win,” said DS Performance Director Xavier Mestelan Pinon.

Piloting the team's Season Four challenger will be DS Virgin Racing's all-British driver line-up, consisting of seasoned Formula E driver Sam Bird and relative newcomer Alex Lynn, who made his debut in the all-electric racing series last season. Bird, having raced for the team since Season One, has competed in all 33 of the team's race starts, securing five wins and an impressive nine podiums along the way. Enjoying a double victory in the New York double-header last season and finishing fourth overall, Bird will be looking to challenge for the Championship title again this season. "As one of only three teams to have won in every season, for sure, our aim is to continue our winning ways into season four," said

Virgin Racing Team Principal Alex Tai.

With Season Four starting off with a double-header in Hong Kong in less than two weeks, all is to play for as we embark on another season of all-electric street racing.
