Di Grassi and Buemi drawn together for qualifying

Di Grassi and Buemi drawn together for qualifying

Formula E title rivals Sebastien Buemi and Lucas di Grassi have been drawn together in qualifying Group 3 for today’s Hydro-Quebec Montreal ePrix.

They will be joined by Mitch Evans, Jean-Eric Vergne and Felix Rosenqvist is what promises to be a seriously competitive group.

New York double winner Sam Bird goes out in Group 1, while Nick Heidfeld will fancy his chances of making Super Pole after drawing Group 4.

Formula E qualifying takes place in two stages: Stage 1 is the group stage, where the drivers are drawn into four groups of five. Each group has six minutes during which the drivers must set their best time using 200kw maximum power.

The five fastest drivers from across the groups advance to the Super Pole session. Here the drivers go out one at a time to set a 200kw lap. They take to the track in the reverse order of their group time ie the driver that was fifth fastest goes out first and so on.
